Drug Bust!

No not us!
We joke around a lot about weed on here.
Cause seriously, weed is a joke compared to what's out there now.
Plus, way back in the 70's, McCurtain County was the pot capital of Oklahoma.
We recently had a big drug bust here.
We even had a firefighter among the 36 "alleged" drug sellers.
Because of the big drug bust our local radio station, KKBI, read this letter on the air this morning, and we'd like to pass it on.

The following was published in the local newspaper in Bryant, AR
To Whom It May Concern:
The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county, and he asked me a rhetorical question, "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?"
I replied that I had a drug problem when I was young: I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals. I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather. I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity. I was drug outside to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockle burs out of dad's fields. I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood, and if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed. Those "drugs" are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.
God bless the parents who drugged us!

We we're told there's a country song that says about the same thing, but we don't know what it is.

I can't help you on a country song.
Old time head banger here. I had my girls convinced that listening to country music made me sick and that I would vomit.

I was not a good mother.

When I was in seventh grade I was drug to the back of the class where my math teacher drug her paddle through the air and popped me on the ass several times, which caused my feet to be drug up off the ground about six inches. That paddle drug out a welp on my ass that I'll never forget.

I saw her getting dropping acid with the gym teacher behind the school.
(just kidding - maybe).

I don't know if weed is quite the joke that we all think it is. It's still a drug and leads people to seek addiction treatment even for that. It's definitely not as bad as meth or anything though.

Drew...Weed leads people to seek addiction treatment because the courts give the choice between jail or drug addiction "treatment." The science is solid and states that Cannabis is FAR safer than alcohol and cigarettes. There has never been a documented case of ANYONE dying from consuming Cannabis. In fact Cannabis is a very potent medicine that helps thousands of patients who suffer from: cancer, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, pain, nerve disorders and many other illnesses that Cannabis has proven to help treat. My evidence in this claim is the established research and the 14 states that have medical marijuana laws. There are about six more states this year that have bills going through to create medical marijuana in their state. Two states have bills to regulate cannabis like alcohol for the safe consumption of adults. All, and I do mean ALL arguments against cannabis have been debunked, skitsofrenia, gateway drug, brain damage, they have All been proven to be false. Prohibition of cannabis causes more than 750,000 people a year to be labeled as criminals for a victimless crime. It waste are tax dollars, billions of tax dollars and are time. Prohibition has been proven to hurt our children, one of the arguments for regulated cannabis is to protect are children. There are millions of high school kids who sell cannabis as drug dealers. They do not sell alcohol (thank god it’s poison) because it is regulated. Polls have shown that high school students can obtain cannabis with far more ease than alcohol. It’s really simple. The Drug War is a failed system, cannabis use in on the rise every year. Because people are starting to educate themselves and know it is far safer than legal drugs like alcohol. Do not be ignorant drew. The truth is that the most harmful thing about cannabis is the fact it’s illegal. The only way to get hurt is by being one of unlucky 750,000 people who become victims by this unwarranted, cruel prohibition. P.S remember Al Capone during the alcohol prohibition, ring a bell with the Mexican drug cartels. Guess what when alcohol prohibition was repealed there were no more Al Capone’s ….crime rates drastically dropped. Again the most dangerous aspect of Cannabis is its prohibition. Period
