For House Repubicans, Zero is the Loneliest Number

WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a swift victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House approved a historically huge $819 billion stimulus bill Wednesday night with spending increases and tax cuts at the heart of the young administration's plan to revive a badly ailing economy. The vote was 244-188, with Republicans unanimous in opposition despite Obama's frequent pleas for bipartisan support.

FiveThirtyEight has a good post up on this...almost as good as the comments.

GAWD! I love politics! Nothing better to get your blood pumping first thing in the morning.

Haste makes waste. And you can take that to the bank. Some of grandma's old sayings are still at work in this universe. There are a lot of people (constituents) that don't like this stimulus stuff.

There's already to much waste in this stimulus bill. Most of it isn't even going to help us now. It's not Obama, it's all of them.

Obama got his bipartisanship. The opposition to the bill included all the Republicans and a little more than a dozen Democrats.
