Very seldom do I get something when others don't....so by gosh I'm gonna comment on it.
Obama said "You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."
Even I get he's not talking about Sarah Palin and the joke "You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."
Obama is talking about John McCain and Sarah Palin's idea of change today.
The complete statement from Obama was: "John McCain says he's about change, too, and so I guess his whole angle is 'Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics – we're really going to shake things up in Washington!' That's not change ... you know, you can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."
He continued, "You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink. We've had enough of the same old thing."
Former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift said "Sen. Obama ... uttered what I can only describe to be disgusting comments, comparing our vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, to a pig," She even called it unbridled sexism.
Well former Gov. Jane Swift, how soon you forget that McCain has used the lipstick phrase, too.
Let me refresh your memory...Last year while criticizing health proposals from the Democratic presidential candidates, he said Hillary Clinton's resembled the failed plan she offered as first lady during the 1990s. "I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig,"
And let's not forget Vice-President Chaney in Hawaii accusing John Kerry of talking tough..."You can put all the lipstick you want on a pig. But at the end of the day, it's still a pig.
So I say .. "You can put lipstick on a Republican, and it's still a Republican."
