Alaska Women Reject Palin Rally

http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/09/14/alaska-women-reject-palin-rally-is-huge/

They said Sarah Palin had somewhere between an 80 to 90 percent (depending on who's telling you) approval rating in Alaska as Governor. About a thousand Palin supporters showed up to hear her speak at the new Dena’ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage. That same day well over 1400 showed up at the Alaska Women Reject Sarah Palin Rally. It was the biggest political rally in the history of Alaska.

Duh....where's the 80 to 90 percent?

Kingston Police Officers Disciplined

KINGSTON, Okla. – The chief of police in Kingston says he will discipline his officers that pulled over a Valliant school bus Thursday night on accusations of stolen property. A Valliant school bus was stopped on the way home from a junior high football game Thursday night and forced to go back into Kingston. When we spoke with county authorities Thursday night, they told us they stopped the bus because of accusations of stolen property. This morning Kingston Police Chief John Canoe said there is no indication that anyone on the Valliant school bus had anything to do any type of theft. In fact, he admitted his officer didn't follow proper protocol by not alerting school officials. He said he has spoken with officials at Valliant and apologized. Canoe also said some disciplinary action will be taken with the officers involved. As for the accusations of theft, so far they can't prove anything was taken.

Valliant Middle School Football Players Not Thieves!

Valliant Middle School athletes were falsely accused Thursday night of a theft of money from a Kingston student. An Oklahoma Highway Patrolman, allegedly acting upon a request from a Kingston police officer, stopped the Valliant school bus in Mead and made the bus return to the Kingston field. The bus and the players were searched and no stolen materials or cash was found. The amount of money said to be missing was about $20. Reportedly, a Kingston school official described the youth who made the accusation as a "trouble maker". The youth reportedly missed classes at Kingston Friday and hadn't been located. The claim was the cash was taken not from the dressing room where the Valliant players dress for the game, but from where the Kingston players dress. The incident was reported by KXII on the station's evening news. Although nothing was found to have been stolen, that fact was not reported. (not sure if reporter knew this or not, if reporter knew surely he would have reported it)

There's a lot more to this story but that pretty much sums it up. As a parent, this makes me mad, and if it were my kid I'd be even madder.
* The student making this accusation is a trouble maker.
*This matter should have been handled by the coaches.
*The Highway Patrolman used poor judgment in trying to stop a school bus full of kids on a busy highway and making it turn around.
*The students were falsely accused, received negative publicity from KXII, did not get home until after 1 a.m. and missed a scheduled dinner.
*IT WAS $20! How much gas was wasted in making them turn around?
*The cash was taken from the dressing room the Valliant players weren't even in.
*The police were called, the highway patrol was called, the bus was made to turn around, the bus and the kids were searched....for $20! What would they have done if it had been $200? Shoot first ask questions later?

As a parent I feel...The Valliant football players, the coaches, the bus driver and the parents all deserve an apology from the Kingston school, the Kingston police, the highway patrolman, the KXII reporter (if reporter knew the whole story and did not report it) and the student that made the accusation. And if it's proven this student lied, he needs to pay for the wasted gas!

The Idabel city council voted Tuesday and they authorize Mayor Jerry Shinn to seek bids on the property where the old S & H building had been located. Under the terms of the bid proposal, the successful bidder has to start construction on the site within a year after receiving the deed, and the building constructed has to have a brick facade and be compatible with the downtown aesthetics.

Biden Promises New Toasters

Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) said on NBC’s “Today” show:
“Our tax plan would take that tax cut of another $130 billion that John (McCain) wants to give to people making over $250,000 next year, not let it go forward and give it to the middle class — the very people who desperately need it to stay in their homes, to buy food, to take care of the gas, to fill up their tank, to be able to go out and buy a toaster, to employ people.”

The McCain campaign’s Joe Pounder, crowed in his morning e-mail to reporters: “Did you catch Joe Biden saying this morning that their tax cut will allow Americans to buy a ‘toaster’? Nothing says a sound economic plan like ‘buying a toaster.’”

Excuse me Mr. Pounder!
Just what the hell is wrong with wanting a new toaster?
Some of us (that don't have seven friggin' houses) have to spend our entire paycheck on nothing but GAS!!
So we can't afford a new toaster!
Some of us can't just run out and buy a new toaster (to put in one of our seven friggin houses) when the old one stops working because some of us don't have jobs.. because our job was to make the new toaster.. and we no longer have that job.. because some foreign person in a foreign country is now making that new toaster!
And even if some of us had a job.. some of us don't even have one friggin' house (much less seven) to put the friggin' new toaster in!
And why is that Mr. Pounder?
Because we have a Republican President that cares nothing about the everyday average middle class low income mother that needs a NEW TOASTER!
And this "WE wanna be the next Republican President" doesn't friggin care about the everyday average middle class low income mother that needs a new toaster either!
Because he/she is too friggin' worried about LIPSTICK!
Which by the way..WE CAN"T AFFORD THAT EITHER!
Oh no..this "WE wanna be the next Republican President" is to friggin' busy making fun of us everyday average middle class low income mother's that need a new toaster.. to actually care about the fact that..
WE NEED A NEW TOASTER!

This is a bank

You put your money in it! Even with everything that's going on, it's still safer than your car door or unlocked glove box.

Officials say Oklahoma banks are solid

Bank failures are expected in several states, but Oklahoma Banking Commissioner Mick Thompson said state banks, for the most part, stayed away from the subprime mortgage market, blamed for much of the country's economic upheaval.

Widespread bank failures are expected in states like California, Florida and Nevada, stemming from bad loans and declines in the housing market. Housing prices are still climbing, however, in Oklahoma, which had its share of bank failures in the 1980s after oil prices plummeted.

Now, Thompson said, "Oklahoma banks are well capitalized and well managed and they were not involved in the subprime market to any degree.

Sarah Palin Justice for Rape Victims

So am I understanding this correctly? Sarah Palin not only thinks a rape victim should carry the rapists child for 9 months--- but she should also pay for the test kit? http://www.feministing.com/archives/010930.html
Hell, let's pass a law that allows us to put the rape victim in town square and stone her while we're at it.
I am the only Republican on this blog. I have always been a Republican, but this ---this is enough to make me question my party's choice.
The more I learn about this woman--the less I want her and her lipstick in the White House.

Surprise! Idabel Sonic Burglarized

McCurtain Gazette-
In local law enforcement activity, for the seventh time this year, the Idabel Sonic Drive-In was burglarized today. An employee arrived about 5:30a.m. today to find the front door broken and the safe missing. It wasn't known how much money was inside the safe.
No cameras or alarm were in operation at the time, police said.
* Now that's a surprise....they were only burglarized six times before. So they leave off the alarm and STILL have no bubba cam. Is there a Stupid Sonic of the year award?*

Idabel Cash Trash

NAIW: Did ya'll read this story in the McCurtain Gazette?
A 53 year-old Idabel woman said $500 was stolen from her driver's side door while she was shopping at a discount store or at a convenience store. She discovered the money was missing after making the two stops.
Am I the only one wondering... WHY!
Why would you put $500 in your friggin' car door and leave it?
If you have to leave it in the car..
put it in the glove compartment..
and lock it!

BAAW: I'd put it in the trunk.

PTW: You guys ever heard of a bank?
You put your cash in them.
They keep it safe for you.
It's really cool.

WTRW: I don't need a bank, thank you very much.
I have kids, so I never have money to put in a bank.
But if I did have $500 to leave in my car---

I just throw it in the floor cause nobody would ever find it.
